Antonio Alvarez de la Paz

I am a computational physicist and data scientist focused on molecular dynamics (MD), data engineering, and applied ML (NLP/OCR). I build reliable, reproducible pipelines for scientific analysis and document intelligence.

Current interests: MD of surfactant self-assembly (AOT reverse micelles), temperature/solvent effects, turbulence metrics in MD, OCR + LLM workflows, fast fuzzy/semantic matching with FAISS, and secure data apps.

Selected experience

  • Data Analyst, CONAHCYT — Built data tooling for project tracking, OCR/NLP at scale, and evaluation support.
  • Invited talks & teaching: Molecular Simulation & Thermodynamics (UNAM, UTRGV workshops).

Education

  • Ph.D. (candidate), Materials Science & Engineering — UNAM
  • M.Sc. in Physics — UNAM • B.Sc. in Physics — UABC

Tech highlights

MD (GROMACS, ab initio), Python (MDAnalysis/NumPy), NLP (transformers), OCR (Tesseract/EasyOCR), DevOps (Docker, Streamlit, Nginx).
